Please share your story:
I am a single mom with a wonderful 15 year old daughter. I was diagnosed with lupus 20 years ago. She is wise beyond her years. She is my joy, my caregiver, heartbeat, student, teacher, protector, BFF and my inspiration!
What/who is your inspiration?
My baby girl Amaris inspires me to be happy and push through.
How has your story defined or not defined who you are today?
Due to having lupus, I experience a certain amount of pain everyday. My daughter has taught me to laugh in spite of it all. It has made me stronger and able to appreciate life in a different light.
Why should your story be selected to be featured on our blog?
I believe my story could inspire parents who are living with a life threatening illness to be closer to their children. It’s ok to show weakness in front of them. Parents are human too.
What encouraging words would you give to someone who shares a similar story?
Live life! It could always be worse. Be grateful for the harsh times so that you appreciate the good.
